This course is designed to help you better understand how your nervous system responds to the world, why regulation can feel so difficult at times and what practical steps you can take to feel calm, safe, and centered. You'll gain not only insight, but also tools and strategies that you can begin using right away.

Here's how the course is structured:

Module 1: Regulation versus Dysregulation

We'll start by unpacking what it actually means to be regulated and how that feels in your body versus the experience of dysregulation, which may look like anxiety, meltdowns, zoning out, or simply feeling overwhelmed.

Module 2: The Science Behind It: Your Nervous System Explained

Next, we dive into the science behind dysregulation, how your nervous system responds to stress, sensory input, and emotional triggers, looking at the brain body connection in a practical digestible way.

Module 3: Your Sensory Systems & How They Impact Regulation

In this section, we'll look at your eight sensory systems and how they impact on regulation. We often only think of five senses, but we're going to explore all eight! You'll learn how sensory processing works, how your sensory thresholds and sensory triggers shape your daily experiences, and how different people experience the world in vastly different ways.

Module 3: Managing Dysregulation

Here we'll look at general principles for creating a regulating environment, building body and emotional awareness and supporting your nervous system.

Module 4: Sensory Strategies

Lastly, we'll explore practical sensory strategies tailored to different sensory profiles so you can build your own toolkit to reduce overwhelm and support regulation at home, work, or in daily life.
